Thanks For Linking!

A big thankyou to Richardson Zoo for linking to us

Hot & Humid

It's now officially too hot to do anything, it's not the temperature that's causing the problem, it's only about average for this time of year, it's the high humidity. We seem to be stuck in a rut where we're getting lots of cloud, showers and sunny spells. The forecast is for more sun and less cloud over the weekend it's going to get even hotter and probably just a humid.

Last night was there worst yet for getting to sleep, we need a new fan that goes up to number four because number three just isn't strong enough, we need a force ten gale running through the house to keep things cool! Over a couple of nice cold glasses of cider, we watched a film followed by Big Brother. Not much happened there that would swing the votes either way, now there are only six left in there it's getting a bit predictable with them all getting along. We'll be tuning in tonight for the eviction and will probably watch Will & Grace at half time which we've never watched before Big Bro but are quite enjoying.

We've made no plans for the weekend, except that we're not going to the coast, it will be cooler over there but half the population will be headed that way and we don't fancy sitting in a slow moving car for two hours in this heat. In know Debbie's keen to get out with the camera so we'll be going somewhere nice close by.

Back to the grindstone for another day, then it's crunchie time!

Getting Warmer Again

We were planning to sort the bathroom out yesterday evening, taking the old bed apart and moving it upstairs but it's just too hot and muggy to be doing things like that. Instead we had a couple of glasses of cider while we set up the wap connection on the mobiles so we can download some new games. With the fan upstairs we retired early to sit underneath it on number three while we watched a bit of Wife Swap and then a program about chaps running off with their aupairs, not our normal viewing but interesting to watch these muppets mess up their lives.

There was nothing to write home about in Big Brother all just bundling along shackled to each other. I thought we might have had an outburst from Jason who, being tied to Michelle, must be getting tired of following Stuart around the house.

Sausages & Peas

After a tasty tea, sausages, roast potatoes and peas with gravy, we couldn't be bothered doing anything. With it being so muggy again, we just went upstairs and had a refreshing bath. There was nothing on telly, the summertime schedules are rubbish, so we played Deep Abyss and managed to get onto level six, I had a quick go at level seven but got nowhere.

Jason has threatened to leave Big Brother now all his pals have gone, with next week being the last one, surely Jason must go on Friday, we're both hoping that anyway. This week's task hasn't gone down well with Michelle, having her man tied to Shell for two days and watching last nights show, going by the rules, they've already failed. Not that it matters, Big Bro is making the rules up as they go along now and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they passed.

A big thank you to Viper Squad Ten for linking to us

Inactive Sim

It was warm and muggy here again yesterday, still no sign of a nice sunny summers day. We just about managed to class last night as an early one, taping Big Brother instead of watching it so we could get some much needed sleep although it wasn't easy getting to sleep even with the fan on number three all night. It's not much better this morning, overcast and very humid, roll on November!

The mobile has just made a funny noise and it now says Inactive Sim so we've obviously been transferred to T-Mobile 3 days early which is pain seeing as the new sim cards are back at home. I've spoken to Debbie on the land line and hers has gone off too. Hey ho, we'll just have to swap them over when we get home tonight.

Looney Tunes

Well, the Looney Tunes film wasn't too bad but didn't have us stitches, maybe watching it on a Sunday afternoon wasn't the right time, I know my eyes were really heavy and I could have easily gone to sleep for a few hours but we daren't risk it or we would have been up all night trying to get to sleep. Much more entertaining was playing Deep Abyss game on the mobile, we love platform games and after much cursing we managed to get on to level five which seems to be a bit more difficult. We want to look for some new games but we've got to wait until the end of the week to get transferred to out new phone service and sign up for web access.

For once, all the animals slept all evening leaving us free to do some work on our blogs and try to get past level five on Deep Abyss before we sat down to watch Big Brother. Not long to go now and the fact that there are no nominations again and everyone is up for eviction should mean that Jason goes next unless something major happens as with Victor last week.

Walking the Dogs

Friday nite started with Bicardi and coke for Debbie and the usual Lager for Paulie, After dying Debbie's hair back to BLACK, we settled down to watch Big Brother and were not all that surprised that Victor got voted out after behaving like a Pilchard on Wednesday.

Saturday morning was hangover hell for Debbie while Paulie looked at the map to pick a nice walking route.  We spotted Creswell Crags which we passed last year after getting lost coming back from Sherwood Forest, so we thought we would have a closer look. We got some nice pictures, only problem was, nice as the area was,  it only took an hour to walk round so we headed off for Rother Valley Country Park.  It was lovely and had a big lake in the middle that you could walk round split into sections of different sporting activities, such as Water Skiing, Boating and Wind Surfing.  We kept Lucy and Harvey on their double lead as we did not fancy chasing  Harvey all the way round the lake!

On the way home we dropped Lucy and Harvey off and set off to the DVD store and picked up a couple of DVD's.  We got Starsky & Hutch which we watched last nite, this was supposed to be an all action comedy film but to be honest we did not find it funny and where were all the car chases? The other one which we will be watching today is Looney Tunes - Back in Action which we hope will be much funnier than the rubbish last nite.

Simbas Pride

Last night we watched Lion King 2 which we've never seen before and weren't disappointed. We thought it was every bit as good as the first one and will sit on the shelf in-between the original and Lion King 3 we already have. By the time the film finished, Big Brother was just starting so we stopped up to watch the wedding lol. After Jason being a clear cut choice for us to go tonight, we're not so sure now after Victor's verbal assault on everyone. the show closed with Michelle and Stuart making tents in the snug. The sound left nothing to the imagination, we knew what they were up to I don't think we needed to hear as well, it all just seemed a little bit tacky.

Crunchie day is here once again and for once the weather looks like it going to be warm and sunny this weekend, especially in the East. We've not made any plans yet, wherever we go, we'll be taking plenty of sun lotion.

Fruit Machine

The dogs took me for a walk again last night, we've got them one of those double lead things so they can walk along without getting all tangled up, which I kept them on until we got to the field. After five minutes for wrestling on the grass I managed to get them both on a flexi lead each and off they went in opposite directions until the cord ran out and nearly pulled my arms off!

Last night we took my Dad and my Brother out for a meal. I was the nominated driver and contented myself with shandy and Kaliber while Debbie was on the gin and tonics. We had a lovely night and the mixed grill and steak pie we're lovely. On the way out it was time for traditional throwing money into the fruit machine and Debbie managed to win a couple of pounds!

So it was another late night yesterday, made worse by the very hot muggy weather making it almost impossible to get to sleep even with the fan on number two all night. It's not like it's been all that sunny, just short spells followed by cloudy evenings. It's hot and humid in the office again this morning so it's looks like it's going to be another night under the fan.

New Mobiles

After work I rushed home and took the dogs out for a quick lap of the field while we waited for Debbie to get home. As soon as she arrived, we got changed and zoomed off to Meadowhell. It wasn't too busy for a change so we had a clear path to march on down to the mobile phone shop.

We've didn't want another flip phone because when it rings we're all fingers and thumbs and can't get it open quick enough after spending ages tying to get it out of Debbie's handbag. This time we've gone for a Sony Ericsson T610, it's been out a while but it's had good reviews and it does exactly what we want at a decent price. The customer before us shelled out £250 for a new phone which is something we would never do, in 18 months time when our contract is up, we could probably get the same phone for free.

Anyway, we've not had chance to look at the new phones much yet, they were on charge all last night but we have taken a few pictures and Debbie has now got a picture of Lucy as her screen saver and she looks as cute as ever.

With the new phones and everything we didn't take that much notice of Big Brother, all we managed to catch was the end to find out that Jason, Victor, Dan and Nadia are all up for eviction. You know who we want to leave on Friday but I can't say or it won't happen.

Now that we're a year old and we've got over 250 posts on here, we've added a Google search tool to the bottom of our blog.

Hot Dogs & Cider

While I was nodding off at the meeting last night Debbie took the dogs out on to the field for a walk as originally planned. The meeting went on a bit and I was about half an hour later getting home than I thought I would be.

As soon as I got in we jumped in the car and sped off to the supermarket for some supplies. Obviously we could walk past the alcohol isle without picking something up so we got some cider which we've not had for ages. Hot dogs were on the menu when we got back with a side order of prawn cracker type crisps which went down a treat while we checked out the blogs.

In no time at all it was 10pm and time to retire and watch Big Brother which wasn't a good to watch as previous nights which resulted in Debbie falling asleep half way through and I wasn't far behind.

After the nice hot sunshine yesterday it looks like we're going to be seeing yet more rain today and then perhaps getting a bit drier and warmer towards the weekend. Hopefully this will be the case and we'll be able to get the front garden sorted out and I'll be able to get the infamous gate put on that we bought last summer.

Nice Clean Yard

Nice Clean Yard

We had a break from the doing nothing plan yesterday and cleared all the rubbish out of the back garden. It wasn't that bad but we do tend to leave boxes out there that won't fit in the bin and they needed to go, we finished the job off by bleaching and hosing everything down so it's all lovely and clean now. Hopefully the weather will pick up now so we can have a BBQ at the weekend, it's not really been fit for weeks now. After tea we watched Mona Lisa Smile which was a nice easy to watch romantic comedy but not one we'd be rushing out to buy.

We'd planned tonight with military precision, feed the zoo, sweep up, have tea then out for a walk with the dogs. Now I've realized I've got to go to a company review meeting after work which has scuppered this somewhat but I'm hoping to be home pretty quickly. It's not very good timing, Debbies going to under more stress today, finding out what's going to happen at work. Hey ho, these things are sent to try us.

Happy Birthday Snowbabies!

We have been posting posting on blogger for a whole year and today we thought we'd look back over the year and pick out some of our highlights.

Before we started on blogger we had a blog hosted on Xanga but when we got our new computer with XP, it wouldn't allow us to sign in so we moved over to blogger.

July

Our first post on blogger was on 19 July 2003, it was a hot sunny day and we'd been drinking, not much change there then lol. At the time the Snowbabies zoo included Lucy, Misty, Toddy, Zippy and Maisy. Later that month the shower busted and Paul got his first electric shock. We also had a fantastic night out watching the Bootleg Beatles.

August

We had a lovely day out at Cayton Bay with the dogs and the heat was getting unbearable. After a night searching and worrying, Toddy turned up safely.

September

The wedding plans are coming along nicely and Paul picks up his new car.

October

This was a very busy month, Maisy left us, Debbie got a new job which didn't turn out to be very good and handed in her notice.

November

We only made one post in November, being busy with wedding plans and getting ready for Christmas.

December

The Christmas decortaions were done. We had a ride up to Snake Pass but there was no show for the snow.

January

We finally get some snow.

February

Eskimos in the snow.

March

Paul buys a kite and we get some more snow. An impending disaster and then averted the next day.

April

We make great progress with Zippy and Paul decides it would be a good idea to buy some dance mats for the playstation while Misty starts swinging from doors.

May

We had a lovely day out at Knowsley and had a month of taking lots of pictures with Debbie's new camera.

June

June saw even more photos on here with vists to Whitby and Knowsley, even Lucy stood still long enough for her picture to be taken. Debbie got her new car, a shiny Yaris Blue.

So that's whole year on here, it's been fun keeping a diary and we're looking forward to writing about the next 12 months.

Rainy Days

We visited Knowsley Safari Park again yesterday and despite the weather forecast not being that bad for the weekend, it rained the whole time we were there again. It doesn't matter to us, being in the car most of the time and the animals are always more active when it's raining. The Lions especially put on a very good show both times we went round. Mr lion was having his wicked way with Mrs lion and kept glaring at the ranger lol. We just saw the one otter but he was very close by this time and wa rolling about next to the lake having a very good time in the wet weather. We got some nice shots of the rhinos who were mostly just laid out soaking up the rain, the llamas were as nosey as ever and came to say hello. We never gave the mad ostriches chance to get close, I'm sure they'd be inside the car given half the chance. Passing the drive through baboon enclosure, we had a chuckle at two cars parked up outside inspecting the damage lmao! I'm sure it wasn't funny for them but if they're daft enough to drive through it then it serves them right.

On the way home we called in at Choices and picked up two dvd's, we watched Cold Creek Manor which we thought was about a haunted house but was more of a thriller and we didn't find it all that scary. We've got Mona Lisa Smile to watch today which we know nothing about but the cover looked nice.

We're not doing anything today, it's an official 'chill day' with lot's of coffee, tea, telly and competing with the dogs for available space on the sofa!

Stuffing

We we're both very busy bunnies at work yesterday so when we got home we had a nice chilled glass of vodka martini with our spaghetti Bolognese. Debbie made the drinks and it blew my socks off! I certainly wouldn't be up to doing any James Bond stunts after a couple of those lol. We did a little bit of work on the new blogs while Lucy entertained herself by pulling the stuffing out of the one of the new toys. I think there are three toys left for Harvey to play with now, we'll have to get some more at the weekend.

It was really hot and muggy yesterday despite not seeing any sunshine but then when it started raining on the way home the temperature really dropped and I even put the heater on in the car. It really is very funny weather we're having at the moment.

We didn't catch much of Big Brother last night, we we're too busy giggling on the sofa. I've checked the website for an update and it seems to indicate there will be a twist with the evictions but it's not very clear how it will work. We'll be tuning in tonight to see who get the chop.

One Becomes Three

Eagle eyed readers may have spotted that we've created two new blogs, Buttercup and Yorkshire Snowman. We've been blogging on here for a few days short of a year now and we've loved updating our diary here. It's great looking back over the last year and we're looking forward to another year writing about our daily lives on here. We can't really say what the new blogs will be all about as we don't know, we just thought it would be nice to have our own blogs so we could write about all sorts of things while keeping this page as our diary. The blog names come from our nicknames back on Feesch a few years ago where we met as Buttercup & Snowman. Debbie spent last night getting her page ready for action and I think it's looking pretty darn sexy already. I'm hoping to get mine off the ground sometime today.

Big Brother was explosive again with Michelle and Ahmed having another row. We're hoping that Victor goes tomorrow night, although I think it will be Ahmed who'll be walking. I thought I'd say that because we want Ahmed stay and every time I say someone will be leaving they prove me wrong. We want Ahmed to stay and feel the pressure with no Victor or Jason to back him up. There are reports in the newspapers today that whoever is evicted will be able to take someone out with them, now that's evil.

Clothes Mountain

After work yesterday, I called in at the local supermarket for a spot of shopping. Armed with a list compiled by Debbie, I was round there in about two minutes, without the list I'd have been stood at the end of and isle for ten minutes trying to remember why I'd gone in there. Back at the I got the tea on the go, smoked haddock and chips, which wasn't what Debbie had in mind when she came in through the door but it turned out pretty cool. Last time I attempted fish, it dried out and turned into this rubber thing that would have kept the dogs entertained for weeks.

After tea, we set off on our expedition to clothes mountain, armed with a roll of bin bags and determination. Two hours later all the clothes were either hanging upstairs, in the wardrobe or in our new drawers under the bed. With a job well done, a large gin and tonic was in order with lots of ice to cool us down while we settled down to some telly. With the little sofa bed cleared, it's been claimed by Harvey who spent the night snuggled up on there.

Big Brother was about as entertaining as it's been so far, everyone was is fighting mood apart from Stuart and Shell. Michelle was livid at Ahmed for not taking part in the tasks and for being an idiot (not what Debbie called him last night but I can't put that here lol). Nadia was gunning for Jason again for making her change places in the days task and for being a fool (again, not what Debbie called him but I certainly can't print that here lol). Hopefully on Friday, Victor will go and the following Friday Jason, which will leave moody Ahmed with no-one to turn to and he'll go, then it gets difficult as we quite like everyone else.

It's Happened Again

It's happened again...I've just heard that, against all odds the Big Brother housemates have passed the weekly task, Michelle and Jason are safe and everyone else is up for eviction. Jason must have more lives than a very lucky cat......

Dreaming Of Snow

With the weather being a bit on the cooler side lately, I've started thinking what this coming winter may have in store for us here in the UK. The last three winters have produced more and more snow each year, nothing like the amounts we used to get but four years ago we had virtually no snow at all. With the increase year on year over the last three years, I'm thinking that this year could possibly continue the trend and produce more snow than we've seen for a long time.

Last winter we kept in touch with the site and forums at The Weather Outlook to keep us informed of any likelihood of snow and for the most part we heard about it on there before it happened. I've checked in today for the first time in months and would you believe it, they are thinking along the same lines as me. Of course this doesn't mean it's going to happen, it's a long, long way off at the moment, but it would be nice if it did!

Paul

Cheeky Bum

Flicking through the TV guide last night you could tell it was summer time, not a single programme worth watching so we stopped on the computer all night instead. Both Lucy and Harvey were in clingy mode, they won't settle if we're not sitting on sofa so I spent most of the evening with one or both of them sat on my knee. Then Toddy comes along and wants to join in and I have all three of them jumping about on me while Misty chills out in the window and Zippy goes through his expanding repertoire. At one point we're sure he said 'Cheeky Bum' but he could have been trying to say 'Cheeky Boy' which we say a lot, whichever it was it was funny.

Big Brother was a little more entertaining with Michelle loosing her rag with Ahmed and his constant whining and rule breaking. I can't see how they are going to be able to pass this weeks task now, which means Jason and Michelle will be put to the vote and I'd put my money on Jason to go. I've never been right about eviction night yet, sorry Michelle!

The sunshine is back again this morning, it's been dark, dull and miserable for a few weeks now, we could do with some sunshine for a few days and this weekend so we can get out with the dogs without getting caked in mud. Harvey has just about got over kennel cough now and should be ok to be around other dogs by the weekend.

G.I. Paul

While Debbie was waiting for the dye to work yesterday, she offered to cut my hair. Straight over my head with the shears and then asked me what number I wanted, any number as long as it's one. So now it's extremely short, but it's cool and better for the hot weather should we get any. It's been unseasonably cold for the last week or so and there doesn't look to be any change in the next few days at least.

I got the drawers done that go under the bed so we can finally get our piles of clothes put away. We'll probably get the bedroom sorted tonight and then we can remove the little sofa which attracts too many clothes. This will leave space for another wardrobe or two or we could bring the clothes rails down from upstairs to make some room up there for more storage.

We had a ride over to Dad's in the afternoon, the dogs stayed at home because we were in a bit of a rush to get back in time for tea, we'll take them along another day. I know Dad love's to see Lucy and I'm sure will be taken with Harvey when he finds out he fetches his toys back when you throw them for him. Lucy's getting a bit cheeky lately, if there are two of anything, Eg. two toys or two longer lasting chews, she wants both. She'll never take anything from Harvey but as soon as his back's turned she's in there like lightning. Harvey's getting wise to this though and is pinches them back when she's not looking.

I took the buggy out to Dad's with a view to giving it a run out on the street which is always quiet, but it rained the whole time we were there. I'm itching to take it out on some tarmac and see just how fast it will go, but I'm not standing in the rain and I don't want to get it muddy again, it's not like I can just run it through the car wash.

Butterfly Heaven

Yesterday we went to Tropical Butterly House near Sheffield, they have loads there, tropical butterflies and parrots, sheep, goats, monkeys, it was a lovely day, we got quite a few good pictures, the only problem was that in the tropical house our cameras proper steamed up…lol…

On our way home we went to Meadowhall shopping centre just off the M1 motorway, it was packed out with Saturday shoppers, after 15 mins, I totally lost it and we ended up leaving, its just too much when its that hectic….

We went to our local dvd shop and got a few good films, one called The Medallion with Jackie Chan and Lee Evans it was very, very funny…

This morning, I’ve changed me hair colour again, now I’m Red with dark bits in it, I like it very much, in two weeks time I will be back to black hair again…lol…
