New Website

We've been busy bunnies over the last few days, working on a new project - our new website!

Recently we've noticed that our Flickr page has been eating our photos, showing only the last 200 pictures we've posted. I managed to recover most of the missing photos and we've put together a new photo album which will eventually show all the pictures we've ever posted. We're currently up to August last year, it's going to take some time to get the whole album up to date.

Our new Google website will soon also feature details about our wedding, a new wedding album, information and pictures of our animals, details on places we go for days out and much more once we've got that little lot sorted out!

Knowsley March 2006 - Sea Lions

We've seen the sea lion show at Knowsley Safari Park loads of times but we never tire of seeing it again.

Knowsley March 2006 - Lions

We finally made it back to Knowsley Safari Park last weekend after a six month break. Unfortunately, we'd forgoten that you have to dress in black like the man in the old Milk Tray adverts so as not to cast a reflection in the car windows when going through the lion enclosure.

We didn't do too bad though, managing to bend this way and that to avoid our own reflections, the lions must have thought we were playing Twister!

Fire Rescue Dogs

Here's something great in the news for a Friday morning, three rescued dogs have been trained in Sheffield to help protect their owners from house fires.

You can read all about it here.

Have a top banana crunchie day!

Magic Snow

We had loads of snow from 8.30am to 11am this morning, it settled on the grass and trees but by 11.30 it was gone! I’ve never known so much snow to melt as fast! Must have been that special Houdini Snow!

So, with no snowy scenes to post, here’s a couple of pictures Debbie took on Sunday…..

Lucy watching telly from the comfort of the duvet on the sofa.

Lucy adopting the old ‘stop mucking about and stroke my belly’ pose.

Two of our four angel fish, I’ve tried and tried to get a shot of these before but I always end up with a blurred photo. I should get some lessons from the expert!

Freezing Rain

Well, yesterday the forecast chopped and changed from rain, sleet, snow and in the end blizzards but all we got here was freezing rain which is quite unusual. It was amazing to watch last night, as the rain fell it froze on or just above the surface and we had what looked like crystal clear ice pellets scattered around.

This morning the steps outside were coated in ice and Lucy, Sasha and Lollypop were a little bit more reserved, not really wanting to dart around as normal on sheet ice! When they got back in they huddled together trying to thaw out their feet.

Non Stop Snow

It’s been snowing here all day, although with the size of the flakes, we’ve still only got about an inch of snow on the ground. Still, it’s been nice to have falling snow to watch through the window while we stay nice and warm inside.

Debbie had to be quick to get this paw print before it was obliterated by thousands of others!

flick00290

The heather we planted a few weeks ago was in danger of being buried under a two inch snow drift.

flick00291

Lucy likes to stand with her head facing the wind even with the temperature still below freezing, rather her than me!

flick00294

The colours of these new flowers look almost pastel through the snow.

flick00295

Sasha loves racing about in the snow, I should try and get an action shot but if panned the camera that quick today, I’d have slipped and ended up on my arse!

Relaxing PJ Day

While we fight off this flu bug, were taking it easy and having a PJ day. I seem to be pulling through it a little now but Debbie's going through the streaming nose stage which I’ve had for the last two days.

Sasha and Lucy wasted no time getting into the swing of things, hijacking one end of the sofa.

flick00287

Eric, meanwhile, was busy inspecting the Debbie’s dried flower arrangement, probably checking for dust.

flick00288

Satisfied that everything was up to scratch, Eric sat down for his photo shoot . . . . tart!

The Dreaded Lurgie

We've both been struck down with the dreaded lurgie this week, it's been getting steadily worse as the days have gone by but we've still plodded in to work as usual. At least it's Crunchie Day, just a few more hours to battle through and then it's off to bed . . . . . unitil Monday!

Bloglines

With so many blogs to read and photos to see on Flickr, I've started using Bloglines to bring new posts to me rather than opening every page we've ever linked to every day.

At first I was a little sceptical, having tried something like this before but now I'm finding this quite a hoot, being able to get round everyone's blog posts and seeing a bigger selection of some wonderful photo's that are being published on Flickr. It all means there is less time spent opening tabs and more time spent actually reading posts and looking at photos which has got to be a good thing.

Add to that the latest local ,national and techno news, I don't need to visit any other sites any more, apart from the weather sites obviously lol. The only drawback is the temptation to hit the refresh button just one more time!
