Walking In The Winter Sunshine

It's been another busy weekend, I don't think we sat down at all until late on Sunday. We had a nightmare visit to Jessops at Meadowhell on Saturday, all we wanted was a camera and a lens, after 3 hours we were sorted, why is it always us!

On Sunday morning I managed to do my first length at the swimming baths and then did another and 3 before I felt like I was going pass out (hangover and swimming don't mix). Debbie's could already swim when we started and she's getting better and better each time we go, usually doing way over 30 lengths.

A tidying up session ensued when we got back and then in the afternoon we went for a stroll round the woods. While I tried in vain to capture a long tailed tit on camera about 50 metres away, Debbie merrily snapped away with her new Canon :-)

All Change

Debbie's got a new camera, a Cannon Powershot G9 and I've got a 500mm! lens. All this means is that Debbie has defected from Nikon and I'll be carrying a camera and lens longer than a double decker bus.

Debbie is finding the new camera lovely to work with and I'm thinking I'm going to need some kind of trolley to wheel my kit about!

Swimming Back On Track

We still can't get shut of this cold, we've had it on and off now for months.

We've got a message for Mr Cold & Flu - bugger off!

It's affected our swimming schedule over the last few weeks but we've had enough now and we're just getting stuck in regardless. Once we get in the pool, the aches and pains seem to fade away, that is until it's time to hobble back home.

I've been having swimming lessons over the last few weeks and last night I finally discovered the art of not drowning. When we next go I'm going to brave the deep end try a full length of the pool.

Looming Milestone

It was my 38th birthday on Saturday, Debbie got me a new memory stick for the computer, if only I could stick it in my ear lol.

We spent an hour or so down at our local RSPB reserve, Old Moor. I'll have to get the pictures loaded when I get chance. While we were there Debbie bought me Bill Oddie's Little Black Bird Book which I've now read and have been bitten by the birding bug again!

We finished the day off with a top banana Chinese from our local take away.

Lovely Winters Day at Robin Hoods Bay

Lovely Winters Day at Robin Hoods Bay
Originally uploaded by Snowbabies

We had a lovely walk around Robin Hoods Bay today. Thought there might have been some snow over the North Yorkshire Moors but no luck there. The bay was nice and quiet, just how we like it :-) Lucy had a ball as usual but like us is now collapsed on the sofa!

We'll upload some proper pictures when we have a minute to retrieve them from the cameras.
