Grandma

We had a phone call from Dad last night, Grandma has been rushed back into to hospital following her fall two weeks ago. Our thoughts are with her and we'll be seeing her just as soon as we can. It's her 85th birthday on Sunday and we were all looking forward to the party, we'll save that for another day now. She fell at a shopping centre in Sheffield on a raised paving slab and they've not offered any apology at all, because in this age of compensation chasing, if they were to even send a bunch of flowers or anything, they'd be seen as admitting liability. I wish we could go back to the days when if someone applied for compensation, it was really justified instead of everyone being out for every penny they can get. Everyone in society is watching their own back now, you can't even help the little old lady across the road anymore in case something happens and you end up in court... it's ridiculous.
