I got a phone call last night, the estate agents where we've put an offer in for a house yesterday morning, head office this time, they wanted know if we had any feed back. I was actually quite calm, we're getting used to dealing with them now, we just expect the unexpected and laugh at their own stupidity!
Anyway, we watched a TV Election Special, featuring the three main party leaders. We don't usually watch this kind of thing but thought it might be a laugh seeing the three of them in the same room taking questions, however, Tony wasn't up for it, chicken, so they were out one at a time instead. I think out of the three of them Charles Kennedy came out best with Michael Howard looking as slippery and slimy as ever and Tony Blair looking like he really didn't want the hassle of being Prime Minister anymore.
An amazing point in the show was a question to Tony about Doctors Surgeries, having to book an appointment on the same day or in some cases within 48 hours. Now we knew about this one as we now have to make an appointment on the same day instead of making it in a weeks time or so to get a suitable time. What we didn't know was that this was all to do with government targets and even more astonishingly, Mr Blair didn't know this was going on either! Must be too busy rehearsing his 'why we went to war' speech to notice anything else going on around him.
So to sum up, we have Michael who's answer to any question starts "what I actually said was...." and then doesn't answer the question. We've got Tony who answers any question but we all know that anything he says will be out of the window if he gets back in. Then we've got Charlie boy, knowing that this time around the government are sitting ducks and the opposition still haven't found the plot since they lost power, giving them the most realistic chance of winning that they've ever had. So, they decide to announce that they'll put taxes up, which is always a winner on polling day!
