Almost On The Market

There was no 'for sale' board when we got home last night but we did have the details for our house through the post to sign off. To speed things along we drove round to the estate agents and popped it through the letter box and then hopefully we'll still make this weekends paper.

While we were over there, we couldn't resist nipping up the hill for another look at our dream house. It's a bit early to be thinking about things at the moment, we've still got to sell ours, but we were mentally re-designing the garden while sat in the car ..lol...

The carpet in the bathroom has got to come up tonight ready for the fitters tomorrow evening, it's going to make such a difference with the new blue carpet against the white walls and a blue dolphin border. Debbie's working on Saturday morning so I'll be off to the tip with the rest of the rubbish and will be able to get the rest of the painting done, then that's it, all that will be left to do is just sit, wait and hope!

Don't Mess With Grumpy Cat

It made a nice change not working on the house yesterday, however we're going to have to get moving on this again today and hopefully there should be a nice big 'for sale' sign in the garden when we get home tonight.

Lolly's been terrorising Toddy and Eric lately, chasing them all over the house as dogs do, it's just a game and there are plenty of places for the cats escape to well out of his way. We're still keeping them separate while we're not there though just in case anything should happen.

Misty is most likely to have a do at Lolly, he doesn't go looking for trouble but he's not scared of anything and just stands his ground then wails a bit before the paws start flying should Lolly try to invade his personal space. Lolly will learn in time, like Lucy has, that the big grumpy black and white cat is not to be messed with.

Still On Track

We had the valuation and photos done for the house yesterday, the 'for sale' board will go up tomorrow and our little home will appear in the local press this weekend!

Our new financial advisor came last night and sorted out all the details for our mortgage, now all we've got to do is try and get this place sold as quickly as we can so we don't loose the house we want.

There are still a few things to do but they're only small jobs that we should be able to get done before the weekend. After the frantic last couple of weeks, Debbie and I are looking forward to a more relaxing weekend and taking Lucy and Lolly somewhere nice.

Turbo Decorating

It really has been all systems go this weekend! As soon as we were back from work on Friday we got started on the attic bedroom, clearing out all the rubbish that's been dumped up there over the last few years. On Saturday we filled a whole skip with rubbish and we're still going to need a couple of trips to the tip! Then we a had a trip to B & Q and Focus for a new shower curtain rail and some ceiling tiles. As soon as we got back we painted the stairway walls and tiled the attic stairway.

There was no let up on Sunday, painting the attic stairway, glossing in the kitchen, putting a border up in the bathroom, fixing a new shower curtain rail, hanging a new bathroom window blind, tidying the living room and generally moving things around.

This morning we're both absolutely knackered, but we've still got things to do today. I've got to pop back home at lunch time for the valuation and photos then tonight we've both got places to go after work before meeting up back home in time to go through the mortgage with our financial advisor. We've got more cleaning, tidying and a little painting through this week to make sure everywhere is spotless before anyone comes to view the house.

Have a Break, Have a Bacardi

We very nearly started the attic bedroom last night, then Debbie produced a bottle of Bacardi and with no coke in the house I had to go to the shop and came back with coke and six cans of Guinness. We'll do the bedroom tonight ..lol..

With all the fun and games sorting out the house we've not really had chance to take many pictures of Lolly over the last week, we'll have to get some taken this weekend, that is if the little bugger will sit still long enough! He's really come out of his shell now and last night he was racing about like a nutter with an empty toilet roll he'd nicked.

Lucy is still getting on really well with Lolly although I suspect she prefers it when he's asleep. She's got used to the cats way of life, sleeping all day and all night ..lol..

Blitzing The Bedroom

Well we didn't get much snow yesterday, just a few light showers in the morning while places north and south of us had loads. At least we didn't have a distraction from the task in hand last night, sorting out the bedroom. It took us two hours to clear out everything we didn't need any more and there must be about ten bin liners ready for the skip at the weekend. Luckily after giving Lollypop some Tixylix, he just crashed out for the evening, if he'd been awake, we'd have been trying to rescue socks all night ..lol..

Tonight we'll be targeting the attic bedroom which we use as a dumping ground for just about everything so I'm expecting the number of bags of rubbish to at least double!

Good News!

We had some good news yesterday, our offer for the new house has been accepted and the vendor has taken it off the market to give us time to sell ours!

It's all hands to the deck now, starting tonight with a ruthless clear out so we can turn this place into a show home. The decorating will have to wait until the weekend and we'll have to work from dawn till dusk to get everything ready in time.

Following yesterdays news we were itching to get going on the house last night but had to go out for a meal with my Brother who has just reached the ripe old age of twenty-one. We're both shattered this morning, watching for the snow with half open eyes ..lol..

Thanks For Linking!

A big thank you to A Touch Of Style for linking to us

House Hunting

We were on the house hunt again last night and popped out to view a house that we liked the look of. We weren't disappointed, in fact, if we were in a position to put an offer now we would do, it's got everything we want, bay window, garage, large garden and is higher up with a still snow covered lawn! Debbie was busy mentally arranging the furniture in the living room and designing an on-suite bathroom upstairs ..lol..

I'll be in touch with the estate agents today to see what we can do, realistically it's going to be a week on Saturday before we can put ours on the market and then with any luck, not more than a couple of weeks before we get an offer. The vendor is happy to wait for us I've just got to try and bend the ear of the estate agent and get them to wait for us too :-)

One thing is for sure, now we've got the right house waiting for us, we're going to be working flat out now to make sure we are green for go on that Saturday!
