Return To Wyming Brook

We arrived at Wyming Brook on Sunday morning early enough to beat the crowds on a hot sunny day. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the Dippers again with it being quieter but alas it wasn't to be this time. Despite the absence of our bobbing friend, we really enjoyed our walk, right down to the bottom of the brook and back up the track to the car park. Along the way we saw plenty of white butterflies, fast flowing waterfalls, odd looking nettles and of course, gorgeous views in every direction.

Can't wait to see this place in winter, I'll bet it's wonderful in white.

Wyming Brook

Flicking through a book we got from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust we came across a place called Wyming Brook near Sheffield. We never knew this place existed and we don't live all that far away so on Saturday afternoon we decided to pay a visit.

We fell in love with the area as soon as we pulled into the car park and were beside ourselves with joy as we made our way down the the side of the fast flowing stream. After about an hour we had made it about half way down towards Redmires reservoir then turned back because it was getting quite damp and late.

Debbie was in her element with so many waterfalls to shoot surround by beautiful scenery while I kept an eye out for a Dipper.

We can't wait to go back again, early in the morning and with walking boots as the downstream path isn't exactly sandals friendly!
