Shepherds Pie

Last night I did some proper cooking and made us shepherds pie which was lovely and as usual, I made too much so the dogs got a dish full as well. Debbie was a bit late getting home as she dropped someone off near us and then got lost and drove about 5 miles in the wrong direction. I think we need to keep a local A-Z in the car as I'm just as bad and I've lived round here all my life.

We scrapped the idea of taking the buggy out, which was just as well because when I came to start it for a quick go round in the back yard, it wouldn't...again. I put the starter back on charge again, put the car back in it's box and went off to pour myself a bicardi and coke.

Lucy spent most of the night next to the parrot cage having a whimper now and then because he wouldn't come out to play and Harvey was in ball throwing mode, he never seems to get tired of fetching the ball back. After Lucy ran off with the ball, I started throwing his water toy in the air and more often than not he jumped up and caught it, I think this dog is going to be good with a frizzbie.

This morning I've been out with the buggy before going to work, I've found small gravel public car park on the way to work. It was a blast thrashing it around there, I managed to get two runs in before having to go to work. I think the remote batteries are on their way out already. I thought that might happen as the shop gave me Panasonic batteries which we've used in the camera before and they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. I'll go and pick some re-chargeables later.

Brum Brum!

Disaster struck me on Sunday afternoon, I managed to get the nitro fuel in using a washing up liquid bottle cut in half as a funnel but having left the battery pack for the start motor on charge over night, there was still not enough juice in it to get the buggy started. I tried charging it again for 15 minutes at a time and tried to start the buggy again time after time but it wouldn't have it so we took Lucy and Harvey for a walk over the road. It's a good job we had our coats, as soon as we got outside, the bright sunshine turned into a very heavy shower but thankfully didn't last for too long. After passing the bridge that I fell off the other week, we took a different route, taking us past a pond where we saw a rabbit next to some trees, Debbie tried taking a picture but I think it was too far away and we couldn't get any closer because of the dogs.

We got back and I set up the buggy and tried starting again and this time I finally managed to get it going. The little 2-stroke engine needs to be run in so I ad to leave it idling until the fuel tank was empty. Feeling hungry having not eaten since breakfast, we had a Chinese meal for tea and watched Second Hand Lions which is a fantastic film about a boy growing up with his two barmy uncles. After the film I filled the tank on the buggy again and we slowly drove it around the back yard as it was too late to be going back over the fields again. The running in period is almost over, I've got to drive the buggy now at medium speed for 4 tanks of fuel and after that, I can let rip and see what a buggy doing 40mph across the field looks like!

I've got to go and get a little squeezy bottle for fill the buggy tank today, I would have though that the shop where I bought would have sold me one or at least told me one was required but they didn't really offer much advice at all, a bit shabby really for a specialized shop like that. I'm just hoping we don't get much rain today so the fields dry out and we can get out on to the fields after work.

Sunday Blues

Here we are again, BORING SUNDAY'S,

When I got home from work on friday, I was very under the weather, think i was only in the house five mins and me pj's were on, an hour later I was in bed, had a really good sleep for the fist time that week!!

Saturday started off with Harvey going to the vets, he had his second injection and got some table for his kennel cough, now this is going to be fun trying to give them to him plus while we were there got then all their worming tables, Lucy and Harvey will be a doddle compaired to Misty and Toddy, there is going to be teeth and claws going everywhere...yikes...think I will leave this task to Paul....Best of Luck Paul...lol...

Next was a ride over to Michael's to get Paul his new toy, all I wanted to do is come home and go to bed, but with Paul full of beans and Michael just as bad I just had to go with the flo....

When we finally got home, I got me duvet from upstairs and planned on snuggleing on the sofa with a good film that I could fall to sleep with in the first 2 mins of it coming on, but Oh No....Lucy, Harvey and Paul had other ideas, think they had planned it out, lets all get on the sofa as well, it was like a riot, until I gave up....

Why is it when you are full of a cold, your hole body aches, you can not hear one word anyone has said and you feel like you had got a pea for a brain rattleing around in your head....

This morning we have been for our weekly shop and got a new king size duvet and covers and now everyone is chillin, well sort of, Paul is playing with his new toy, making sure its all in working order before he puts the fuel and makes the neighbours annoyed with the noise its going to make...lol... Harvey & Lucy are playing with squeeky toys on the sofa, the cats are in the box that Paul's toy came in and Zippy is signing along to whatever music comes on the TV and as me Im feeling a lot better with all the Flu tablets I have taken and IM BORED!

Paul's new motor! Posted by Hello

Another New Car

Debbie is suffering from cold at the moment but has still gone into work today. She had her hot toddy and a lemsip last night, and I had two cold toddy's! I've not shown any signs of cold yet but I'm sure to get it and it always seems to hit men worse, resulting in Man-Flu, symptoms are constant winging and whining, phoning in sick and refusing to get out of bed.

We had some good news yesterday and the result is we've got a little bit more money to put towards the wedding and I'm celebrating almost 15 years hard work here by buying a new car this weekend! I've looked at Mercs, Porches, Aston Martin's etc but I'm after an off-roader to have some fun with, the favourite so far is the HPI Nitro Rush Evo. Yep, it's a radio controlled 1/10 scale model car, if we had come into enough money to by a real Aston Martin, I wouldn't be here writing this, I'd be out cruising round the luxury car dealers. I can't wait to go and get my new car, the Nitro Rush will do about 40mph which to scale would be 400mph in a normal sized car.

Before all this excitement though, I've got to got to the dentist tonight for a couple of fillings, which means having an injection ...whoopee... and having to drink larger through a straw so I don't dribble it all over the place. Tonight we'll be watching Eastenders, Top Of The Flops and the eviction in Big Brother before going to bed ready for a visit to the vets tomorrow.

Oh So Quiet

A nice feeling of calm awaited me as I pulled into our driveway after work yesterday, no screaming kids, no sound of breaking glass and no fire engines! I do hope they've been scared off for good now, it's going to be months while they knock this place down and start building new houses and I fear it could turn into one big dangerous playground.

Harvey hasn't eaten much at all since we picked him up on Saturday, he's had chew sticks etc and he did manage half a tin of tuna. We've given him some left overs from our tea which is not really good for him but it's better than nothing. I was beginning to wonder if he's only ever been fed scraps before, but last night I put Lucy's dinner down and went to get some tuna for Harvey. When I turned round, Harvey was eating the dog food! I put the tuna down for Lucy but she just gave me that look so I had to put that in the bin and get her usual. Hopefully Harvey will eat his dinner again tonight and he'll start putting some weight on, he is rather thin at the moment, we'll talk about that with the vet on Saturday.

The no drinking during the week is going well, nothing on Monday night and nothing last night, Tuesday we had a stiff drink with all the commotion going on outside which I think is allowed. Debbie is starting with a cold so I think she'll be having a hot toddy tonight and I might have one too, prevention is better than cure as they say.

Big Brother was a bit emotional last night, Michelle screaming at everyone and Marco with the water works, it did look like it could kick off again but I sounds like they had a good party last night so we'll see how they got on tonight. We've not voted yet, no body has been up who we've wanted to leave, we night make a few phone calls when Jason or Victor are nominated, although I suspect if either one is evicted, the other might chill out a bit.
